So the picture below is of a young turtle who we found dead on the beach. Shelby, one of the biologists, was showing us how to do a necropsy...or in other words - cut the turtle open to find out why it died. I didn't stick around long enough to find out what killed this turtle, but the 2 we did before it died from injesting fishing line and drowning.

Man! Poor little turtle. Sounds like it's going great down there and your face looks a lot darker than I remember - must be that there hot sun. Take care!

Looks like you are happy just to be working with animals, even if you do have to perform an autopsy on the ones that die. Wow, ingesting fishing line causing a death of an animal! How sad. I hope they have signs posted in the fishing areas. I know you are doing a very good job with your responsibilities and these animals. We love you for doing that. Good luck, Love you,
