My job was really cool this week. We hiked around this canyon looking for old mines and caves. When we found them we analysed them and decided if they had high bat potential. If they did we came back that night and put a really thin net over the opening...and caught bats! We took some info on them and let them go. Then at about 1am we took down the nets, layed out our sleeping bags and got paid to sleep under the stars. It was really fun. Kona was a good trooper even though she likes to go to bed early ;)

Why does Fish and Game want you to check/catch bats? Check for Diseased ones? Count'em? Use the bat wanno for organic fertilizer? Hmmm. Please answer on this blog; it's interesting and creepy.
