So the picture below is of a young turtle who we found dead on the beach. Shelby, one of the biologists, was showing us how to do a necropsy...or in other words - cut the turtle open to find out why it died. I didn't stick around long enough to find out what killed this turtle, but the 2 we did before it died from injesting fishing line and drowning.
A little bit of my life
...not a lot, just a little bit...

Well, here I am in Texas. I live in a big house with a bunch of crazy people but it is ok because there is a big yard for kona. My job has just been training so far and will be for the next week. We went to the beach today. The beaches here are strange. They let you drive all over them so there are trucks going by, kids running by and dogs. Yeah they also let you have dogs on the beach. And because of the currents or something all the trash from the ocean washes up on our shores. We have big trash like cars and enormous metal containers, and we have all the small trash like dead chiuauahs in sweaters, bottles with notes in them and small packages of marijuana. Also the roads are NOT biker friendly. There are no shoulders and everyone drives fast. The speed limit on the freeway is 80mph during the day and 65mph at night. But there are tennis courts, a public pool, grocery store and the beach right down the street. I'm going to church tomorrow to meet my new ward. As far as I know they don't have a singles ward here so I'll be chillin with the families.
