after the ride at slick rock Posted by Picasa

this weekend was a hoot. We went to Moab and rode slick rock trail and the last part of the white rim trail. Also today is my last day in our new/old house. We're moving out to a house a few blocks away. I'm going to be in Idaho for a few days. I have my second job interview. Then I'll probably move to Provo or go where ever I can find a good job.

yahoo internet again...and so soon. I'm in Rexburg for a few hours (here to talk to bro. Stricklan) and I thought I'd stop by the old blogspot. Well I now have a job opportunity that's at or maybe above my level. It's not a sure thing yet but I just got a killer letter of recomendation from Stricklan and he pulls alot of weight witht the Idaho Fish and Game. I'll keep everyone up dated I should know by the end of the week! I'm nervous to be honest but Bro. Stricklan says I have nothing to be nervous about and that this job was made for me. I hope he's right. It's for a whole year and with that I can pay off my truck and head to grad school :)
Other than that bird banding is going great. I'm having a lot of fun and I don't even mind how cold it is and waking up at sunrise.
p.s. I went on a really cool bike ride called wolverine yesterday. Tons of fun, beautiful trees...I love the mountains

well I am now in Camas Idaho working for the Idaho Bird Observatory and the Fish and Wildlife service. Basically we get up and out by sunrise (7:30) and set up 10 stationary nets. Then we check them every half hour or so, pull the birds out, analyse and band them then set them free. It's a fun job but it will only last till this saturday. Then who knows what. It's cool though, I see lots of animals including a porcupine today while I was on a jog. I'll try to post some pictures and some more details soon, but lets face it-internet is scarce here and the batteries on my camera are dead so it might be a while.
p.s. I really want to go caving if anyone is in. I get off at about 1 or 2 every day.

Well this weekend turned out a little differently than I thought it would. I'm so tired right now I hope I can remember everything correctly. I got to Idaho really really late last night and tried to sleep in but the place I was staying at got noisy at about 7 am and stayed that way until I finally dragged myself out of bed at 11:30. So this weekend Kason didn't come down (I heard he was sick) Scott never called back, I think things started going better with Randy and his girlfriend because he never called either, Brian bailed on us because of priesthood and the girls he brought down weren't really into hanging out with his little sisiter. Anyways it ended up being Jed, Kori and me biking on Saturday, and just Kori, Karah and I that night. It was fun though we went biking up American Fork Canyon and since no one had been there before we just picked a trail and went for it. Well the one we picked went straight up the mountain for about 3 hours. It was gorgeous though. With fall coming all the leaves were turning and the views were amazing. So after about 3 hours of very physically demanding hill climbing I thought I was going to die. My thighs were burning, my calfs were burning and worst of all my throat! I thought I was going to tear it out it hurt so bad. Not to mention the fact that I was soo hungry! So we decided to head donw and different trail, realized we were meerly climbing higher up the mountian! Then we turned around and went back the same way we came. Jed jumped a sweet log. That night Kara, Kori and I made tin foil dinners, brownies, virgin margaritas and sat in the hot tub. Then Sven, Brian and Amy joined us. It was a fun night. The next day (sun) we listened to conference and did a little rock climb in American Fork Canyon. Then I packed up my stuff and headed up here to Idaho. Right now I'm at the fitness center and probably taking too long at the computer. I'm a little worried about the kittens. Sterling doesn't really feed them. I'll have to call periodically.
Well I better go
P.S. Fern I've been trying to call you...sorry I didn't leave a message...call me some time :)
